IST CEBU MSMED WEEK 2009

ENTREPRENEURSHIP is neither an investing for business nor a silent partnership for profits. But rather an act of creating, building and growing a business enterprise calculated for economic growth and serve up as a weapon for poverty eradication.

However, it is sad to note that majority of the people were not able to realize that when entrepreneurs transform the meager resources into amass of wealth, it provides the needed social services of the community, albeit, not its original intention.

Evidence thereof, a latest statistics shows, that there are 783,065 total business enterprises registered in the Philippines. Of which, 99.7% or 780,469 are MSME and only 0.3% or 2,596 belong to the Large Enterprises. This 99.7% is breakdown into: Micro 92%, Small 73%, the Medium enterprises 0.4%. It is worthy to note that MSME provides 70% of the total Labor force in the country while Large Corporations only provide 30%.

The Filipino Cebuano Business Club Inc., an organization of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises is committed to its laudable advocacy of transforming people’s mindset: From being job-seekers into job creators for purposes of attaining a proper equilibrium between the manpower supply and the industry demand.

I strongly recommend to my fellow Cebuanos to go into Entrepreneurship. Together, we can make Cebu as the ENTREPRENEURIAL CAPITAL of the Philippines. Be an Entrepreneur! GO, GO, GO Negosyo.

My heartfelt felicitation to all OFFICERS, BOARD OF DIRECTORS, MEMBERS and PARTNERS of the FILIPINO CEBUANO BUSINESS CLUB, INC. in celebrating its 1st Cebu’s MICRO, SMALL and MEDIUM ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT WEEK 2009.

GOD Bless!
